Integrated application-based research–Extension-Outreach program and Teaching on Soil Health and Soil Management: ++++++
-Serve as the Statewide Program Leader for Soil Health, Regenerative Agriculture, and Natural Resource Management at North Carolina A&T State University, leading and coordinating statewide programming focused on advancing resilient, regenerative, and sustainable agricultural systems. +++++ - Lead and conduct application-oriented research and Extension programs designed to improve soil health, agricultural productivity, and long-term sustainability through science-based soil and land management practices. Research and outreach efforts focus on soil health management, regenerative agriculture, cover cropping systems, crop rotation, conservation and reduced tillage practices, soil amendments, agroforestry, nutrient management, and climate-resilient agricultural strategies. +++++ - Develop and implement integrated research, Extension, and educational initiatives that enhance the understanding and adoption of soil health practices at local (North Carolina), regional (Southeastern United States), and national scales, to improve soil function, productivity, environmental quality, and farm resilience. +++++ - Direct statewide Extension, outreach, and educational programming related to sustainable food production systems, soil and water quality, land stewardship, and natural resource conservation, translating research findings into practical solutions for farmers, landowners, agricultural professionals, and stakeholders. +++++ - Serve as Southern SARE (Sustainable Agriculture Research and Education) State Co-Coordinator for North Carolina A&T State University (2023–Present), supporting and expanding professional development and sustainable agriculture training opportunities for Extension personnel, NRCS staff, and agricultural professionals to facilitate adoption of regenerative and sustainable farming practices. +++++ - Lead and organize statewide and regional educational activities, including field days, workshops, webinars, demonstration programs, and hands-on training events that serve farmers and agricultural professionals across North Carolina and the Southeastern United States. +++++ - Lead train-the-trainer initiatives through Cooperative Extension that strengthen the capacity of Extension agents and agricultural professionals to deliver effective, science-based programming in soil health, regenerative agriculture, and natural resource management. +++++ - Establish and maintain a strong multi-institutional collaborative program that integrates expertise across universities, Extension systems, government agencies, industry, and stakeholder organizations to develop innovative, science-based solutions and expand the impact of soil health and regenerative agriculture initiatives at state, regional, and national levels. +++++ - Collaborate with North Carolina State University, regional and national partners to develop and deliver educational programming on Heirs’ Property issues and land stewardship, supporting underserved and historically disadvantaged communities. +++++ - Lead the Industrial Hemp Extension and Outreach Program at North Carolina A&T State University, providing research-based education and technical support to producers and stakeholders.
